Friends at the Reebok Grand Prix May 31




On Saturday May 31 a group of Friends of St John's Track & Field went to Ichan Stadium to watch New York's only world class outdoor Track and Field meet. The meet exceeded expectations and was capped with a world record in the 100 meters by Usain Bolt.
In addition to the 100 meter world record there was also an American all comers record set by Paul Koech of Kenya in the 3000 meters steeple chase of 8:01.85
As the 100 meters was underway Jenn Stuczynski was making three solid attempt at the women's Pole Vault world record. Earlier in the evening Jamaica also laid cliam to the women's 100 meter dash with a world leading time by Veronica Campbell Brown of 10.91
