December is a strange time of year for a collegiate Track & Field athlete. Days are getting shorter, weather colder, academic load heavier and holiday distractions greater. It's a tough time of year to begin a season.
Fortunately our young team are showing early promise and a return for all the hard work they've put in over the Fall.
On December 1, Manhattan College played host, to their annual meet, held on the first possible day of the season. We had 2 athletes in action: junior Brianna Drexler and freshman Chanel King. On December 5th the full team debuted at Fordham. STJ's sophomore Priscilla Frederick led the team with a Big East and ECAC qualifier in the cramped high jump area in the Fordham field house.
